This is what the 1984 history of Callaway County says about Dry Fork, written by Kathyrn Holt)

"Dry Fork is located two and one half miles north and west of Guthrie, Missouri.  Its members and friends can be both pleased and proud of the beauty and convenience of the church building.
Dry Fork was organized in 1847 and has been a leader in Christian fellowship for the surrounding community.  Much is due to the deep religious conviction of both pastors and lay people who have served since the church was first organized."

**The cemetery was incorporated due to the efforts of Pearl Burnett, Kathryn Holt, & Flossie Hudson. They wanted the cemetery to be operated under separate funds in case the church no longer existed. They would spend every Memorial Day
at the cemetery collecting money for the upkeep of the cemetery. They did this every year until they were no longer physically able.

Founding members of Dry Fork Church and Cemetery

**The Eleven Founding Members of Dry Fork Baptist Church were William Dozier, Sarah Dozier, Elizabeth Dozier, Caroline Dozier, John Holt, Mary Holt, Timothy Holt, Harriet Holt, Robert Brandon, Nancy Dorton, & Emily Branham.  These are stated in the old record book of 1847 which we still have.  We were organized on Sept 24, 1847.  They met at a school house in the neighborhood of William Crank.  Those attending were ministers D. Doyle, P. H. Steinberger, & Noah Flood ( Noah's Great-great-great grandson visited our church this year.)  & Deacons W. Major, T. Martin, & F. Sappington
